Here is a handy "tool" to help you in selecting the right pump for your application.
On these Low Pressure high volume, Open end, Magnetic Impeller drive Hydro Pumps, the influence is on such a small scale it could not really effect the performance and live time of the pump. (unless you are going to shut it down completely)
Here are the Guidelines for restricting these little Hydro Pumps:
- Always Restrict the pump on the discharge side of the Hydro Pump, not like some of the selling gadgets on different makes, where they set the flow on the intake side.
- The reason for our large range of Hydro Pumps is to identify the correct size for specific application there is only 200-400Lt per Hr difference between Pump sizes. Select the right Hydro Pump for the job.
- The easy and cheaper way to lower the flow on top is to punch or cut small holes on the outlet pipe until you’ve got the needed flow at the head.
- The next option is to install a inline Flow control on the discharge side of the pump or just before the fountain head. With this method it is advisable to not restrict more than 20–30 % of the flow. (for the same reasons you mention above).
- If the client needs to restrict even more of the discharge flow and depending on the application, he can purchase a Hydro Jet/Flow control Kit from us to redirect the water flow within the pond.
- Depending on the application he can still use the Flow Control Valve but just add in a T Piece close to the pump and install the Flow control Valve now on the side outflow of the T-Piece. The more you open the valve the less water will be directed to the head outlet and therefore just circulate within the pond or even use it for another fountain head or Hydro Feature.
With the EXCEPTION of the Rotor, this product is guaranteed for a period of 24 months from date of Purchase for material of manufacturing defects.
